Cottage 2010

We were able to go to the cottage on Manitoulin Island, but Nona said it was the last time because she is selling the cottage. We had "The Last Hoorah" shirts made and everyone wore them on the same day and we took lots of pictures. The trip was memorable and Morgan had the time of her life. We were able to escape for one day and went ATVing. It was absolutely crazy. According to Tiffany nowhere in the world would have taken us along those trails except on this reservation! We also had Make Your Own Pizza night for dinner. Morgan loved eating marshmallows cooked over the campfire. She also went fishing off the dock for the first time. She caught a few fish and Zia made her kiss the fish when she caught it! Well, the cottage has not been put up for sale yet and we are hoping it is around for more years to come!

Morgan Goes to Preschool

When Morgan was almost three it was time to enroll in 3 year old preschool. Several preschools were researched and we decided on St. Pius. The hours and days worked well with our schedule and that is the church where we got married so we were comfortable with our choice. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. Her teacher was amazing and Morgan made several new friends. Morgan got in trouble a few times, but overall I think Morgan had a successful first year of school! She brought Mickey Mouse cupcakes for her birthday treat. They were really cute. They went on a field trip every other month. Bob usually took her, but I was able to attend the ice skating trip with Morgan. She did pretty good. Morgan is looking forward to attending three days of 4 year old preschool starting in September.

Morgan's First Trip to Disney

Morgan went to Disney World for her Christmas present from Zia. My mom and I also went. We had so much fun. We stayed at the Carribbean Beach for four nights. Morgan was too short for Splash Mountain so we kept trying to make her taller by having her stand on her toes and puffing up her hair to make her meet the height requirements. It didn't work so for her next trip she gets a jump to the front of the line pass! Morgan's favorite rides were Dumbo, The Haunted Mansion, It's a Small World, and Toy Story. Morgan also loved the 3-D rides and even got a Baby Cinderella Tattoo (a kid's one of course). Breakfast with Cinderella was a highlight. She loved the airplane ride and was sure to raise her hands up in the air during take off and landing. On her first roller coaster ride she kept her hands up all the way up the steep hill. We are looking forward to going again soon!

This is for Mirela and Mihaela

Morgan and I had a special visit today from Mihaela. She is the twin sister of Mirela. They both work with Morgan's Zia. Morgan met Mirela when she was just two months old and today she met her sister. Morgan was on her best behavior. She was excited to meet a new friend. Morgan warmed right up to her because she recieved a gift of a chocolate covered pretzel with sprinkles on top! Morgan gave her a hug and said welcome to my house. Next we played catch with a huge pink ball that almost broke Mihaela's nose! Morgan took some pictures with her new friend and gave her a hug when she left. When Mihaela was leaving she made me promise to update the log, so I am keeping my promise!

Canada Vacation

Our big summer vacation was in Canada this year. We went to my grandparents' cottage on Manitoulin Island. I thought it was going to be a disaster with a toddler, but it turned out to be wonderful. The weather was a bit cold, but we were able to go in the lake one day. Can't wait until next year when Morgan will be a little older to really appreciate the beautiful island! The memories created this year will last a lifetime!

Summer Fun

We have had lots of fun this summer. We went to the Detroit Zoo, had a play date at our house, went to Funtastic twice, camping, to a pig roast, and played with friends often. It has been a busy summer, but I am enjoying all the time I have with Morgan. She is learning to use the potty, counts to ten, and sings part of the alphabet. She also recognizes the numbers: 2, 4, 5, 7, and 10. Her favorite show is Barney and she loves Elmo.

Frankenmuth and Sonic!

To Our Loyal Viewers: So sorry I haven't updated in a while. We've been quite busy. We went to Frankenmuth for my mid-winter break. We stayed at the Bavarian Inn and it was very nice. We ate a lot, swam a lot, and had lots of quality family time. The best part was taking Morgan to the arcade. She loved it! We also miniature golfed...that was crazy. I had to carry Morgan while golfing and I actually did quite good! I almost beat Bob's score and he wasn't carrying Morgan while golfing. I even got two holes in one with Morgan on my hip! The second set of pictures are of Morgan's first outing with Zia. They went to Sonic and got milkshakes. Morgan got her first milkshake all to herself. She ended up waking up in the middle of the night for 2.5 hours wide awake. I think it was from the shake because she doesn't usually wake up like that. Thanks Zia!
